Getting Started

The set up  IMG_2199

Step 1: Schedule a free one-on-one intro with us

Let’s have a reality check.  Working out by yourself is no fun at all!  When it comes to accountability, camaraderie and making the most of your workout time, going about it alone can seem like a real DRAG.  That’s why we want to rescue you from your existing “workout drudgery” (or no exercise at all!) and introduce you to an awesome fitness community here at CrossFit Athlete Lab!

We want a better understanding of your goals and expectations, so we’d like to meet with you 1-on-1 to see how we can help you.  You’ll also be led through a CrossFit workout scaled to your level of fitness, and we’ll get a better sense of how to best serve your needs.  A coach will give you a little bit of background to CrossFit training, answer all your questions about pricing, packages and incentives, and find out if it’s a right fit for you.  We’re looking forward to meeting you!

All you have to do is call 612.770.4322, or send an email to schedule your Free 1-on-1 intro.

Step 2:  Start with Beginner Classes, Regular classes, or Privates

We see all types of people walk through our doors.  Some with no athletic background, some who’ve fallen off the wagon, and those that have an extensive athletic background already.  Once we’ve met you at the free intro, we’ll have a better sense of how to get you started on the right foot.

The focus for all new members is strictly learning the lifts, proper technique, getting comfortable in class, and getting through the first part of the learning curve.

A.  If you need extra attention and one-on-one training, we’ll schedule out three 90 minute privates sessions to get you trained in with all the CrossFit movements that you’ll perform in class.

B.  Maybe you catch on quickly, are pretty athletic naturally, but life got the best of you and you fell off the wagon.  We’ve set aside four evening time slots that beginners can attend throughout the week.  Two to three coaches are staffed during these classes, such that one will focus on new members, while the other lead coach can focus on the rest of the class.  You’ll also get a chance to see others in action and learn as you go.  You’ll be doing the WOD, just like the rest of class, except that things will be adjusted for you based on your level.

C.  You’re a natural fire-breather.  You’ve done strength and conditioning regularly and we don’t have to correct your push-up form or your squat form.  You know what power lifting is, have a decent grasp of Olympic weightlifting, and maybe dabbled in kettlebell training.  You can probably do a handful of pull-ups and have a decent aerobic/anaerobic foundation.  You’re in pretty darn good shape.  If this is you, you have access to regular classes, but the time slots below will give you extra attention to refine your skills.  If you can make these slots the first few weeks, we can work with you more closely to get all the bases covered.

Beginner Classes to chose from:

Mondays:  6pm

Tuesdays:  6pm

Wednesdays:  6pm

Thursdays:  5pm
